1 Overview

WowText ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by LINKSYNC MZ LTD, a company incorporated in the United Kingdom. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the WowText mobile application ("App") and website at wowtextapp.com ("Website"), collectively referred to as the "Service."

We take your privacy seriously. We collect only the data necessary to provide you with a reliable virtual phone number service, and we never sell your personal information to third parties.

By using WowText, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

This policy applies to all users worldwide and additionally incorporates rights and obligations under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) where applicable.

2 Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

Data we do NOT collect: We do not collect your precise or coarse location, health or fitness data, financial account details (payments are handled directly by Apple or Google), contacts from your address book, photos, videos, or any sensitive personal information such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, or biometric data.

3 How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect solely to provide and improve the WowText Service. Specifically:

  • Service Delivery: To assign and manage your virtual phone number, deliver SMS messages, and enable VoIP voice calls
  • Account Management: To authenticate your identity, manage your subscription, and process plan upgrades or renewals
  • Customer Support: To respond to your inquiries and resolve technical issues
  • Service Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve features, performance, and reliability
  • Security: To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, spam, and unauthorized access
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and lawful government requests
  • Communications: To send you important service notifications, billing alerts, and expiry reminders

We do not use your data for targeted advertising, third-party advertising, or data brokering of any kind.

4 Third-Party Services

WowText uses the following trusted third-party services to operate the App. Each has its own privacy policy governing the data they process on our behalf:

Google Firebase

Used for user authentication, real-time database, push notifications, crash reporting (Crashlytics), and analytics. Firebase processes account data and usage metrics.

Used as an optional authentication method. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from your Google account.

Apple App Store / Google Play

All payments are processed exclusively by Apple or Google. We never receive, store, or have access to your payment card information or banking details.

VoIP / Telephony Provider

We use licensed telephony infrastructure providers to route calls and SMS messages through your virtual number. These providers process call metadata and message routing data under strict data processing agreements.

5 Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We may share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With trusted vendors who process data on our behalf (listed above) under strict data processing agreements
  • Legal Obligation: When required by law, court order, or valid legal process from a government authority
  • Safety & Fraud Prevention: To protect the rights, property, or safety of WowText, our users, or the public — including reporting illegal activity to law enforcement
  • Business Transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy
  • With Your Consent: For any other purpose with your explicit prior consent

6 Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy:

  • Account data (name, email): Retained while your account is active and for 90 days after account deletion to handle disputes
  • Message content: Stored temporarily for delivery purposes only. Messages are not retained beyond what is operationally necessary
  • Call logs: Metadata (duration, timestamp) retained for up to 90 days for billing and support purposes. Audio is not stored
  • Purchase history: Retained for 7 years in accordance with UK financial record-keeping obligations
  • Crash and diagnostic data: Retained for 90 days then automatically deleted
  • Support correspondence: Retained for 2 years after the case is resolved

You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by contacting us at support@textwow.online.

7 Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction:

  • All data in transit is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security)
  • Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 encryption
  • Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis
  • We use Firebase Security Rules to enforce access controls on our database
  • Regular security reviews are conducted on our infrastructure
  • We do not store payment card information — all payments are handled by Apple or Google

No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights and freedoms, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

8 Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right to Access

Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.

Right to Rectification

Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

Right to Erasure

Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").

Right to Portability

Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

Right to Object

Object to processing of your data for certain purposes.

Right to Restrict

Request restriction of processing under certain conditions.

9 Children's Privacy

WowText is not directed to, and does not knowingly collect personal information from, children under the age of 18. If you are under 18, please do not use the Service or provide any personal information.

If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take immediate steps to delete that information from our records. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 18, please contact us immediately at support@textwow.online.

10 International Data Transfers

LINKSYNC MZ LTD is incorporated in the United Kingdom. Your data may be processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States (where Google Firebase servers are located).

When we transfer data from the UK or EU to third countries, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
  • Transfers to countries with an adequacy decision by the UK ICO or European Commission
  • Data Processing Agreements with all third-party service providers

11 California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you additional rights:

  • Right to Know: You have the right to request disclosure of the personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months
  • Right to Delete: You have the right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions
  • Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell personal information. You have the right to opt out of the sale of personal information — however, as noted, we do not engage in this practice
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights

12 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
  • Send a notification through the App or via email where reasonably practicable
  • Provide at least 7 days notice before material changes take effect

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
